After the festive season, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a press conference, expressing her strong disapproval of the recent ED searches at the homes of Trinamool leaders. She began her speech by extending her good wishes to everyone and vehemently criticized the ongoing investigations. Mamata Banerjee asserted, "dirty games are going on."
On the same day, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted extensive searches at the residence of former Food Minister Jyotipriya Mallik in connection with the Ration Distribution Corruption case. This action raised concerns among Trinamool leaders, including Sabyasachi Dutta, who appeared at Jyotipriya Mallik's house to show his support. The Chief Minister expressed her dismay at the searches and questioned the basis for such actions, emphasizing the need for proper evidence, as stated by the Supreme Court.
Mamata Banerjee also highlighted the alleged bias in these investigations, raising concerns about the searches of Trinamool leaders while sparing those from the BJP.
